for valentines day this year me and my fiance are apart as he's in afghan. i wanted to make him feel special even though we're not together, so i got this cute little box and some small plain cards and wrote down on each one something i love about him. there's one for him to open every day until he finishes his tour. could do something along those lines? thoughtful and doesn't cost much!

How about a mini scrapbook of pictures of him as a baby and growing up and now. | did this for my mum's 50th birthday a few yrs ago and she loved it.

i secretly booked him into a posh hotel and we went for a meal with close friends and family, then for his actuial present i got him a ferrari driving thing, he isnt into experiences as such but he said he is looking forward to it

the best thing i got him was, he has followed the band cheap trick (american 70s 80s metal band) since he was tiny so i wrote to them and asked them to send him a birthday card, they sent him loads of things! all for free too!

ive heard some football clubs will do something similar too if you dont ask you dont get ;)
