I had complete free rein as to how i run them and although i got no support from the boss and had no "decent" goodies

Re: Puppy Parties - a forum fave!

i run my puppy classes over 3 sessions and on the last one a vet comes in and talks about neutering and pet passport scheme and i think it works well as the clients seem to like having the vet there and occasionally ask other questions but the vets feel involved in doing more "vet type talk" rather than the trivial (in some of there opinions) puppy care and flea/worm and behavior stuff etc so that may be an option for you ?

Re: Puppy Parties - a forum fave!

Maybe when you do your practice tour you could have a vet in the consult room and he/she could do like a mock examination on a suitable candidate so that in particular the first time pup owners can see that side of it and the pups get used to going into the room etc.

Re: Puppy Parties - a forum fave!

Maybe you should just see how it goes with a Vet there for one time and if it's not the same ask them not to come next time.

My first puppy party was just a few weeks ago. I wasn't running it a company came in to do it but both me and the practice vet/owner were there and the clients loved it. We had some really nice informal chats with the owners not just discussing the puppies and they really enjoyed it.

I think Vets should be more present in somethings as it helps bond clients and they get to meet the more human side of a Vet, but I do agree they shouldn't take over from you as you have more experience running these than them. Would they do that?

You might find it works out?!
