Can i ask what you wrote in your cover letter? I want to start sending mine off for my Level 3 in Sept....have already sent a few but not having much luck

Waiting till September but doing one day in a few weeks to see if I like the practice. I work at Frankie and benny's waitressing at the moment and doing as many hours as possible to save lots of money, seeing as I can't get a student loan!

Im not too crazy about my college either, they sent a big box of folders to the vets when i first started and that was it...In my opinion, it would of been better to meet my tutor and have her explain some things to me, she never answers her phone and takes a while to email back. Wont be using CAW for my next year anyway.

Im not sure how to set it out, as it asks me to talk about first contact, but im not involved in the first contact, as i am only a placement etc...

I was thinking of doing a RTA case and also Pancreatitis just got to get started lol

The medical case if its the one im thinking of, I did a case of a kitten with severe dehydration,

My college has actually only given us about 4 assisgnments in random order but I printed off the whole lot and have just got stuck in at my own pace.

To be honest we not had a great experience with our college but hay ho just trying to get it all done.

Just wondered what you have for your case studies?

I have Gastroenteritis and maybe Pancreatitis, if i can get some treatment forms etc

Am using Heart Failure / Ascites as the medical condition assignment (not sure if u have read that far lol)

Think I have a placement, got voicemail today from local vets. They just need to speak to me tomorrow about the days they need me to do. Fingers crossed, will be soooo happy if it happens. Will let you know tomorrow!

For the first aid one, i just used an animal first aid kit i have already, jus took all items out and took picture...also the leaflet that we have to write up is in there too...but it looks more like a book lol not had that one in for marking yet, so hope i have done it ok!

The rabbit one, i just used teddy as visual aid....how to approach, picking up and keeping calm and why this was important etc had it all wrote down, so was easy to give as presentation, not that i am a huge fan of presentations! lol

When i started on the course, the folder/assignments werent really explained to me, i just wondered about the summary sheets, does the assessor sign or the mentor?

Kirstie...I started mine last Sept too, how you finding it? Im not doing too bad, have my practical tick shhets all signed off...upto writing the case studies on animal emergencies, but struggling a little with how to set it out etc

Nichola...Thats great :) how did you find exam? Any hints as to what is in exams? lol are you enrolled as SVN now?

Katie...Good luck finding a placement,can be tricky. 57 letters.....wow, im sure you will get something soon Would be happy to go through what is involved with practical tasks / assignments etc if there is anything you want to know.
