when you are qualified there is SPANA who work abroad giving veterinary treatment in countries where the people rely on their animals to survive but there isnt always treatment available

Fantastic guys, thank you I'll have a nose! It'd be great to take a working holiday that my husband could chip in as well. He's an animal lover but doesn't work in the veterinary business, I think he'd love it!

Try WVS, www.wvs.org.uk. They do all sorts of charity work for vets,nurses,lay staff and non veterinary people regardless of experience. I have done a couple of trips and had a brilliant time. You will need to pay a yearly subscription fee before you can look at and apply for the trips.

There is a lovely clinic on the Cook Islands called Esther Honey Foundation. They don't get many nurses so love it when they do have them! They will give you accommodation, and a lot of clients donate food for clinic staff. Cost of living over there is pretty low and it is amazing! i spent 2 months there over august/sept. try vetlink they helped me out when i went on a working holiday to australia or kukaburra vets as well. There is the WVS which also deals with volunteer work around the world so take a look hope this helps a little.
