I recieved the email as well, I was going to post it, but saw Arlo's news update on it. Agree that it has raised awareness of the issue and the reply is positive, in a way, that they are acknowledging there is a problem. I wonder how long it took to bring about change for the 1966 Act regarding Veterinary Practitioners?

An achievement to get that many signatures. I think it's also an achievement to get a government statement that recognises the issue. And it's an achievement to have got so many people thinking about it.

Vicky, yes, but you have to remember that HMG is writing that as a response to be read by anyone and everyone. So their answer has to give a little background.

This petition was never going to get a yes or no answer out of the government. The best you could hope for is that it helped to get more people thinking about the issue. And for that, I think Nick and his co-conspirators deserve a round of applause .

To my mind, a very good first step!
