Luckily we've all managed to enrol on the transitional course at CAW but its such a pain as my journey time is now doubled and we have to get to grips with a new course including the NPL, having to do more assignments and more! You would think that they would atleast let their current student finish wouldn't you...?

Re: Moulton College stopped doing diploma course

One of our students did her 1st year at Moulton and has just started her second year at CAW. It was a bit of an awkward transition for her as as well as getting to grips with all the changes, until her portfolio was signed off by moulton, she couldn't officially enrol with CAW.

I was in my second year at Moulton when they announced that they wouldnt be running the course this year, but they did say that they planned to run another course next year. Not sure whether this still stands though!

Re: Moulton College stopped doing diploma course

Same with us at Writtle College, full time at college, 2 years.
i can only answer part of your post but i suppose part is better than nothing...

i'm currently on the rcvs level 3 diploma in veterinary nursing at moreton morrell, warwickshire college, i started last september (2010) on the new course. There are 3 options open to students and practices who wish to complete the course... option 1 is attending college 9:30-4:30 monday, tuesday, wednesday and working voluntarily in practice thursday and friday, and this way the course is completed in 2 years. Option 2 is attending college for an extended day 9:30am-7:30pm on a monday and working in paid employment in practice for the rest of the week, this way the course is again completed in 2 years. option 3 is attending college only on a monday 9:30-4:30 but over a 3 year period and working in practice for the rest of the week. because this option means that less time is spent at college, it takes 3 years to complete the course. most colleges had to start by providing a 3 year course until they could provide a suitable framework to the rcvs showing that they could deliver the course in two years, hence why some are 2 years and some are 3 years :-)

Hope that helps! And good luck with your training :-))
