Ye, i struggled to be honest. ive been applying for svn jobs since i turned 17 (im 27 now!) so it took me a while. I started working in practice 5 years ago, on reception for 18months then auxilliary nurse for about 3 years. I did my ana and now im finally doing my vn training. I only did my ana because i wanted a qualification and vn training wasnt an option then. Since all the changes have come about regarding vn training our practice is able to be a tp. Honestly if its what you want to do it worth the wait and it will happen for you. fingers crossed you get your placement days, you have your head screwed on and are defo going about things the right way so keep trying hun.

Not bad, had to defer my VCA so start it in September. Just need to get my voluntary two and a half days so having to send offf lots of letters. Did you find it hard to get a placement or did you have a ANA job? Glad your enjoying your studying, can't wait to start!

Its going well thank you, im doing my vn training. I did my ana i 2009, i know you wanna do your vn training but if someone offers for you to do the ana then do it cos its been a big help to me . Hows your search going?

A couple of points:

-in agreeing to train you, your practice are also agreeing to support your studying. You are entitled to some time to study at work. It may not happen every week, but there should be some way to allow you a bit of time....

- 30 mins of effective study, with no distractions and concentrating fully, making notes etc., is better than a couple of hours of casually reading some pages. It isn't about time, it is about efficiency! Take lots of short breaks - leave your drink in the kitchen so you have to have a short walk to get it - but don't look for excuses to stop!!!

-keep up to date with your college work and review your notes as soon as you can after a lecture. You'll be amazed how much more you will understand and remember if you do that rather than looking back on it weeks/months later and thinking 'what did she mean by that...?'

Ah i never thought about breaks! Im having all of Saturday as Sally time, the day i go to college and the day i work the late shift are also Sally time only. Im hoping i can get a couple of hours a week in at work but we are usually too busy. Thanks Maisy, i will have to see how it goes. Like you said if i make it unrealistic then i wont stick to it. My other half lives on his xbox given half the chance so i know when i decide to study he will be more than happy to get rid of me!

I would say so, you can always alter the amounts when you come up to exams or if there is a particular area you need to concentrate more on if you think its needed. Most important thing to do with study plans is to make them realistic and make sure you account for having a life away from study (you are allowed!), otherwise you don't tend to keep interested. Also remember your breaks during study time as well
