Just silliness, really. I like the name florence, but our work's cat is called that, so couldn't "use" it for future offspring, the "S" is the white flower that grows on the graves of Rohan kings and Lothlorien is a place / family name in Lord Of The Rings. Its sounds pretty!

Your problem is that people who post on your wall will have friends that can see what they have said and the whole chain of conversation even if they are not your friends....

You simply do not know who will end up seeing posts on forums/networking sites, simple as that. I have had people (not facebook friends) come to me and repeat stuff Id posted on facebook , my profile is private so obviously a mutual friend had discussed my ramblings. Thankfully I post a load of drivel so its not a real issue........but even so....

i too dont use facebook or twitter. I have had things written about me on FB though! NASTY stuff! As i dont use it i do think it is wrong for people to slate others without having a voice to give feedback!I feel its unfair & unprofessional. Sorry to rant but it gets my goat.

at last! there is somebody agrees with me - the last 3 or 4 times I have tried to point this out when posts have strayed a little too far into a sensitive area I have been accused of trying to shut people up or over analyzing - non of which was the reason.

I got a visit from the police over something I had written on facebook on my private pages (my settings only let friends see it) advising me to remove something that was on my page after a complaint they had received. The information had been used by me as evidence that I was telling the truth that X had occurred and my insurance company used this evidence against the individuals concerned. The individuals concerned then complained that I was violating their private life by having this on facebook (I also named and shamed them more publicly via youtube with a full account of my experiences and a video showing what part of what I experienced there). I removed the youtube video but not the facebook information as everything that I said was factual with other supporting evidence and, as my settings were set to private, the public could not see it. My argument being why shouldn't I be able to tell my friends what is going on in my life? There has been no comeback with regards to this. Basically I named and shamed the property I rented for a very short time for things that those of you on here who know me well will know about and for which I still feel excrutiating bitter over. I don't think anyone should go through what I went through and the letting agency still had it advertised for rent....

I believe it is a joke that I can be silenced for telling the truth on the grounds that the landlords felt harrassed. Harrassed??? I hope that one day they too feel the pain, fear and stress that I and my dogs experienced and, with the most honest will in the world, I hope they rot in the burning fires of hell. Feel the anger?!

I rang the BVNA legal helpline too to check the validity of this too and was advised to remove the youtube video. What a joke and, if anybody is planning on renting a property in the shropshire area by all means PM me with the details of the property. If it is the one I rented I will tell you!

i second that... i've been pulled up at work for threads i've started on here and had to speak to Arlo to have them deleted because of the way they were making certain people look... and facebook... i'm really careful with my privacy settings - and really weird about who is allowed to see my photos and status' etc... i've been pulled up and dragged across hot coals for stuff i've put on facebook about work - and i understand completely where the bosses' were coming from... just be careful what you're writting - and who could potientially read it!!!

one of the receptionist told me that a nurse she knew was ment to be locuming over xmas and phoned in sick... flu or back troubles i can't really remember... anyways... she them posted over 300 photos of all the parties she went to over xmas and new year... that's just super silly!!!

It depends on what issues surround the content.

Is it information relating to the defendant?
Status's written by the defendant ?
Comments made by the defendant?

And how do you mean 'use against people'? as in dismiss them? discipline them?
