She has a dog (although it's her partner's dog really).
I am copying and pasting her message to me this week about her problem. I have kept her and her dogs ID private
"I'm hoping you can give me some advice.
Am I alone in thinking there seems to be a lot of labradoodle aggression issues???

Or am I coming across a bad lot?!!

I've seen the same with a few in consults especially the no warning. Some are fine but some you examine and just turn, unfortunately this can be said for a few other unrelated breeds in consults.

Re: Help needed for friend - biting dog, no warning

Am I alone in thinking there seems to be a lot of labradoodle aggression issues???

Assuming all checks out okay physically, I would ask for immediate referral to a veterinary behaviourist. I am not convinced this forum is the best place for detailed advice on how best to proceed given what has happened.
is there anyway that the dog was startled and bit as a result of this? I know you say its a young dog but how is its hearing and eyesight?

[/quote]

i totally agree with this, hearing and eyesight! was it daytime or nighttime? Id advise her being seen by a vet to check for any medical/neurological problems..it definately doesnt sound normal. Id place a bet there was an underlying problem here...how sad though, shes totally lost confidence with her dog and the dog will pick up on it, she needs to get her confidence back asap..

Re: Help needed for friend - biting dog, no warning

As far as I am aware her recall has been spot on in the past, this is the first time this has happened.

Re: Help needed for friend - biting dog, no warning

is there anyway that the dog was startled and bit as a result of this?
