No to be fair, one of my mates has no savings and decides to spend all her cash on hols. The other lives with his mum and pays no rent. His boss has just bought him a 2 week holiday in Eygpt for his birthday and xmas present, they are best mates. Definately agree with everyone else, if they can afford it, then why shouldn't they? Does make me jealous though, I am moving in with my partners parents in order to start my training otherwise I wouldn't be able to at all. But then their are plenty of people who are in much worse situations i always think!

Wedding and car debt-grrrr! But, we do own our home. But thats cheaper than renting in this market. We just have to wait another 3 years to pay off the car, wedding loan and have option to get a better mortgage rate. I still maintain that so many of my friends seem to have more disposable income.....maybe they got on the housing ladder a few years earlier, had a windfall, or have a fantastic salary....I don't know!!

I guess it depends how much debt you have any how careful you are with money. I have no debt so all i have outgoings are rent, bills, food, petrol, phone and extras so the rest i try to save.

I put away £50-£100 a month away for holidays or stuff like if the car breaks down etc.

I dont earn a vast salary, im a VN! My other half earns more than me but not a huge amount, he also has slightly more debt than me.

We dont mix monies currently, so split everything down the middle he pays half and i pay half.

I guess the reason you cant afford to go away is either more outgoings or more debt? Or maybe you own your own place, which we dont so we dont have mortgage and house stuff to worry about

LOL....mine was about 3 years ago for a week to Gran Canaria.....since then had weekends away but never a proper holiday.....its all WORK WORK WORK!!!!!

Its also beyond me how people afford it, but I am generally confused at how most people seem to afford ONE holiday, let alone that many!

I earn a reasonable wage, my hubby earns an ok wage, so how are we still struggling. The only conclusion I can come to is that people who are in seemingly mundane jobs, must earn ridiculous amounts and the bitter part of me thinks that it is a little bit wrong and contributes to rising inflation. Not that I know anything about the economy or anything, I'm just sick of being broke!!

If i could afford 6-7 holidays a year i would totally have them!!

We usually have 2 holidays, 1 cheap all inclusive £200-£300, 1 week deal somewhere then another bigger holiday for 2 weeks, this year its south africa.

If i could afford more i would, i also go to 1 festival a year too, which is sort of a mini holiday too i suppose

If they can, then why not!?

They obviously save hard and enjoy their holidays and travelling.

If I wasn't saving then I'd do exactly the same thing.

I love my holidays...Im single, have no dependents so if I save for them then im a happy bunny!!

where do they work that allows nearly 14 weeks annual leave a year....please spill

Why not?? If they can afford it and aren't getting into debt over it, its up to them. If I could afford a two week holiday 6-7 times a year I would do the same!

I thought the same reading that LOL!!

For me, I have one holiday a year - if that! purely because no matter how hard we work, we still struggle for ££ - so when I get my 'one holiday' we have the best time ever and it's full of excitement for waiting so long for it ..

I can imagine it might get almost "routine like" to have that many holiday with the packing & unpacking all the time, and also the 'excitment' of going away could fade going away that many times every year?? Thats just my opinion anyways.. lol.. I wouldn't like a holiday every other month.. 2 a year yeah!! lol
