Sorry, I should have explained in my posting that I am employed at a teaching college - our x-ray machine has beeen decomissioned and so we have no need for individual members of staff to have badges - its purely for teaching purposes and the RCVS have said that a photo of one is not enough.

Your practice should provide you with an xray badge or dosimeter. These are usually individual and have to be returned to the company who provides you with the readings.

The cases are all different depending on what company you use and fit the type of dosimeters you use.

If you are having anything to do with xrays in practice you have to have your own dosimeter and if your practice isnt providing you with one personally i would speak to the manager as i wouldnt go near xrays without my dosimeter

Does your training practice not provide monitoring and a TLD? Normally practice members all have individual TLDs issued by the HPA and don't have 'spares' as such - it defeats the point of personal monitoring if a TLD is used by more than one person in the period between readings. :)
