hi sara , exam is in march level 3 paper 2, fourth and last attempt, passed everything else just this one damn paper to pass to be qualified, had to get special permission from rcvs to re take, bit of a palavor, will take it in brighton, fingers crossed this time,

When i studied my ANA i made hundreds of little cards with words and phrases on and stuck them on my bedroom walls.. every now and then i swapped them about so i wasnt looking at the same ones. Helped me out alot!!

Bad luck , don't get disheartened though. When i joined this practice they had a trainee ANA who had failed 4 times she was wanting to take a 5th and final attempt.

feel alot better knowing i am not the only person who has failed more than twice :)

i get another try after this exam soo should pass eventually

Hi Finnegan

When is your exam? I have my Level 2 re takes in March Just paper 1. It will be my 2nd attempt. I did pass my ANA first time, so I was shocked when I failed my NVQ 2 as I felt more confident with NVQ than I did my ANA. I know someone that has there final attempt on the NVQ 2 paper, and she is really scared.

please dont fret too much, i am taking my final and last and 4th attempt at my level 3 paper 2, this is my last chance at it then who knows what ill do, have only to pass this 1 paper to qualify , it seems so frustrating i know but keep at it, if im still going then so can you xx

Spent lots of times playing games and stuff to learn as better with this then reading etc for revision, she passed and then passed her level 2 nvq 1st time!

Trying making match cards, such as make a chart on the computer of animals, heart rate, respiratory rates, temperature, gestation. laminate then cut up into squares, muddle up and then match together. That sort of thing helped my nurse no end, also printing out charts of abbreviations, terminology etc with meaning column blanked out so can photocopy and use as test.

Ask others in work for help they can't be that scarey or unapproachable surely....and it will benefit them in the end to have u as qualified ana....

failed on paper2. taking your advice and self testing and doing mcq's.don't feel comfortable asking colleagues for help would rather do it alone.didn't feel stressed nope

What papers did you fail on? You need to find the areas you think are your weakest - self test, ask colleagues to spot test or do some MCQs so you aren't just familiar with previous tests, spider charts... Have some new unfamiliar ways of revising as this can bring new information and ideas into how you learn. How are you in the exam - do you feel overly stressed? Sometimes being unsuccessful in exams can be down to stress/panic which affects your answers, but if there are areas you find difficult can you ask your mentor at work for some extra help?
