No hun, it is by far the best game and believe me you will feel it after your first session. If your a gym user or have always exercised then make sure you tick the highest intensity! I tend to swear a lot at the screen whilst doing it, which obviously is a good thing because you are in pain! No pain, no gain!

Re: New Year Diet?!

I know how you feel, I must say when i do leave the gym I am much more awake alert and happy although it is a struggle to get the motivation prior to it.

Scottish slimmers really worked for me so I started it again this morning. im aiming to lose about 3stone and maybe a bit more. I didnt exercise first time round but plan to gradually introduce exercise this time. I wont be attending the gym as I just look like a complete idiot. I cant run the length of myself without going beetroot and hyperventilating!! Im gonna start by wiping the 3 inches of dust from the top of my Wii and getting out the exercise dvds and then consider joining the gym when im lighter!!

I've tried slimming world and exercise before and lost weight but this time i'm going for a low calorie diet and exercise. I'm allowing myself 1500 calories a day, which yesterday i found allowed me to eat quite a lot because i had planned out healthy meals. I'm still including things like crisps, bread, chocolate etc but just within that daily limit. I'm aiming to go to the gym 4 times a week, plus i've been doing the xbox kinect whihc knackers me out and once its lighter i'm going to walk or ride to work. I'm hoping it works, and as long as i stay organised i'm hoping i don;t stray too much.!!

I lost 4 and a half stones in about 18 months by introducing more exercise into my life. I started swimming once or twice a week and going to the gym once a week (when I had time) and started walking loads more. I used to walk from work home - pushing my son in his pushchair and that was about 3 or 4 miles, and walking to the shop rather than driving, etc. Unfortunately I have lapsed with this recently so need to get back to exercising again. I have an exercise bike and lateral thigh trainer but I prefer to be out or at the gym - I don't know why maybe I'm just odd ha ha.

Good look to everyone with their diets and exercise regimes.

Just wanted to share my story with you all x

I just know for myself that it works for me and I feel better about myself. I used to sell gyms so thats why you think I sound like a sales woman. Each to their own whether you want to eat well and exercise or just try one of them. But exercise will tone you up and keep you fit. But good on anyone who has lost weight and kept it off, you deserve a medal!

Re: New Year Diet?!

I lost 4 and a half stones in about 18 months by introducing more exercise into my life.
The thing is with Weight watchers and slimming world you have to stick to the food plan or you willput the weight back on and some. I have worked in loads of gyms and thats the story. Best thing to lose weight is eat healthly and exercise for half hour every day or three times about hour and a half. Thats how I keep my weight down. Also try the Wii and games like biggest loser, they get results. I lost more weight on the wii in a month than going to the gym 5 times a week for five months. Reason is, it's fun so you don't realise how hard your working, therefore you keep going at it!
I think that is true with any form of diet INCLUDING healthy eating, you stop eating healthy then you put the weight back on, simple as that. Slimming world is NOT a diet it is a change of lifestyle which is healthy eating same as anything else

And some of us have dificulty exercising because of medical conditions/working hours/no money to go to the gym etc
Very true, I agree with you but everyone has time for exercise even half an hour a day. I have said that excuse so many times and it simply isn't true, believe me. You don't have half hour spare to get your heart rate up and get sweaty? For your health? At the end of the day it is proven that you live longer if you exercise regularly. I used to be a membership advisor for all main chain of gyms and it is simply an excuse, heard it so many times. What people don't realise is if you eat right and exercise it releases emdorphins which boost your mood, so you feel happier and you can fit into your size 10 skinny jeans. Thats why people who are diagnosed with depression are told to start exercising. Even walking the dog at a quick pace is really good for you. But you are right it has to be a lifestyle change, otherwise say hello to the weight gain and plus half a stone. Depressing isn't it? lol

thankful it wasnt just me that was annoyed
Thats fair enough, a lot of people don't like exercise and yes people have medical conditions that prevent them from exercise. And you can do it healthy eating alone but exercise is crucial for a healthy lifestyle. We can argue this all day but thats a proven fact. But fair enough to all of you who would prefer to sort out the eating part of it rather than the exercise. Exercise isn't for every one, however everyone should try to exercise a little bit every day as it benefits you a whole lot in the long run. Then again you get people who go to the gym six times a week and eat crap and smoke, so it could be argued either way. All I know is FOR ME I get down if I don't exercise, my mood is so much better when I just have 3 time exercise sessions every week. And one of these is horse riding as well, which I love. Exercise doesn't have to be in a boring gym it can be doing a dance class, taking a walk, doing the wii, horse riding. The main thing is people do whats right for them but I just don't believe in making excuses not to exercise. I once sold membership to a guy who was 22 stone, he came to the gym 5 times a week and watched what he was eating and now he has lost 9 stone. He is like a different person. Do you think he could do this with just healthy eating, no. It has to be a bit of both. Sorry if I have annoyed anyone but it's my opinion and I have seen so many people make excuses and then when they fit exercise into their schedule they start to see the benefits, better skin, they sleep better, their waist line decreases, they feel healthier. I'm sure i will get a lot of people arguing my case but it is a proven fact, exercise makes you a lot healthier in body and in mind!

Re: New Year Diet?!
But you are right it has to be a lifestyle change, otherwise say hello to the weight gain and plus half a stone. Depressing isn't it? lol

TBH I find this response quite irritating, people who are diagnosed with depression are not TOLD to exercise, it is advised but then again it has also been advised that I dont do much exercise due to health problems, the exercise i have been told is ok for me is swimming and to be honest unless i want to pay the earth there is no where i can go that fits in with my work schedule (and I cant afford to do this) And believe me even if i exercise every day for 2-3 hours a day for the rest of my life i will NEVER fit into size 10 skinny jeans I just wasnt built that way! I don't have a dog so that is a moot point as well!

I have managed to lose weight ( over 3stone) on healthy eating alone and am doing very well again (1 1/2 stone lost another stone to go), this time I am going to stick to slimming world as I find I need the support of everyone in group and when I get to target I get free membership so its win win (always an incentive)

Re: New Year Diet?!

What people don't realise is if you eat right and exercise it releases emdorphins which boost your mood, so you feel happier and you can fit into your size 10 skinny jeans.
exactly - and once you have got into a new way of eating I personally have found it easy to maintain. I have lost almost as much weight since I stopped going to classes as I did while I was paying to go to class. I needed the classes to get me started and to start seeing results that is true but now I am happy to go it alone because I know what I am capable of

Re: New Year Diet?!
Slimming World for me is the easiest to follow and maintain. Admittedly I have stopped going since just before Christmas but that is down to finances and transport but once you get the hang of this you can do it yourself with a bit of will power anyway (I have lost just short of 2 st since end of July following the extra easy plan)

Like Steph this is not my first time with Slimming World and I do believe as you get older it is harder to shift the weight but little by little it is shifting and this time its for keeps

Re: New Year Diet?!

i do slimming world and dont find it restrictive at all!

slimming world is basically healthy eating anyway, i lost 3 stone with sw a few years back then through one thing or another i stopped and the weight piled back on, so back i went for some reason i'm finding it a bit harder this time but put it down to things in my personal life more than anything. i am getting there though with the help and support of the consultant and the rest of the group i will be down to target soon (only got 16 lbs to go, so technically i can easily do that in 8 weeks)

I found when i was trying to do it on my own then I would cheat and have more bad stuff than i should have as it didnt matter.
