ahhh thats just so typical of some clients!! when they deal with nurses, theyre just like acid than sweet as pie to the vets, dont take it to heart, that client obviously has issues and just took it out on you. its nice when your regulars witness some of these rude client and back you up, those clients are what make your day :)

yesterday I had a HBC cat in and its owner was a doctor, i was thinking the worse (typical human medical field clients) that question everything you do and treatments etc. She was there while we were treating and stabilising her cat. while she was holding the cat, another nurse and i, administered a catheter, IVFT, 02 therapy, pain relief and took xrays within 35 mins whilst the vet was talking to her and she was so amazed by what us veterinary nurses could do, the knowledge, skills and how proficient we were. she said if it was the human field you would be waiting hours. We had a diagnosis within a 30 minute time frame. its the small comments like this, that will keep you going in this industry

2011 has been manic so far, i hope it settles down soon, for everyone

I think that has to be one of the things i dont like about my job, why do people think they can talk to nurses/receptionists like dirt but then be as nice as pie to the vet. The one that gets me is how they are really nice to vet then yell at us about the cost of whats just been done..........yell at the vet cos they charged you not me!!

Mine was lousy!! Mad busy then to top it off major attitude man came in for ovulation testing on his staffie and got really aggressive with me and other nurse - basically because we were women and not vets who were blood sampling his dog. Vet called him through and was fine with him just saying it was me not explaining things even though hadnt given me chance to speak uninterrupted, then comes back out and has another go at me in the waiting room. Luckliy room full of regulars who just thought he was awful and were asking if we were OK! Why do people think they get anywhere being aggressive. Think we need a zero tolerance sign like at doctors!

Hmmm, thats a bit rude of them not to tell you. I find it hard working with new people mainly because im quite shy until i get to know someone.

Well my day got better, spent the last half an hour of it cuddling 4 Labrador puppies

hey thanks means a lot! yep will talk to one of the partners. who im now told didn't know either and thought we had a works experience in! lol. Im working with the grumpy partner tmw but i actually seem to be on his right side at the mo! we will see

Hey, your day sounds awful It is not very nice of them not to have told you they were taking on another nurse. Is there anyone senior you can talk to? I think you are best off trying to talk to someone about it, to get the full picture.

As for the cat...animals really do take the piss out of us sometimes don't they?!

I hope you have a better day tomorrow, so I cannot be of more use x

I'm glad not to be the only one in a grumpy mood today! Yes were were v busy on the consult side of things. Don't you just hate it when something tries to eat you while you are just trying to do the best for it? as for the rolling in the poo etc just puts the carbosh on it!!!

Sooo i hope ppl will understand that i feel a tad peeved to go into work today and find a new nurse has turned up! which is fine but one told me i would be working with someone new which i think is a bit rude, also i didn't think we were taking any more staff on as its been v v quiet for months and i have actually been allowed to go home early on occasions as long i was willing to be called back for any emergencies also this person, who apprears to be v nice, i dont have a prob with her, has been contracted for 10 hrs a week more than me and has been asssured she will get them. The manager was in a foul mood and best avoided today so im confused +++ Any ideas anyone. Btw when i started working at my current practice one of the partners took me aside and said just so i know........communtication is not all it could be! no kidding!

They are probably trying to get you to make a mistake so that they have an excuse for pulling you over and fining you for some trivial thing so they can make money out of the motorist as usual.

My local Police force appears to be cutting back with their new cars and not taking out the optional extra - indicator lights...either that or they think we are all psychic round here and know which way they are going.

What really P***es me off is idiots driving about in the fog or half light with NO BL**DY LIGHTS ON !!! Do they want to cause a major pile up or are they just THICK ???
