try cydectin... it's a large animal medication - with some possible side effects, but if managed properly works a treat...

i've put my little staffie on this.. she gets 0.22ml of 1% sheep cydectin every day. our dermatologist vet uses this more often than other treatments cause he gets better results... (ps it's also an off liscence drug)

Mmm, but when your housemate works with one of the top dermatologists in the south and he tells you to use Aludex you use Aludex!

I went to a talk on advocate recently they did say it was licensed for use every 2 weeks to treat demodex

We used Aludex at the PDSA where I worked but then changed to promeris with some good results... may be worth a try?

Isn't advocate licensed for application every 2 weeks to kill demodex. Think have to treat until 2nd negative test. If it's licensed then it should work?

Rescued a 3 year old Norfolk Terrorist a few years ago who FINALLY was diagnosed with demodex after having had ABs and steroids thrown at it for about 2 years.... (DON'T get me started on shitty, lazy, bloody vets, grr....)

Couldnt walk without his feet splitting and bleeding and the only thing for it was to shave him bald and weekly baths aludex, and it was his miracle cure! Thought you'd like a piccy or two...Ta da!

advocate doesnt work once demodex has taken hold, keeps it at bay though! We use seleen first to remove grease and dirt and then the aludex, we have about six dogs getting bathed in it at the minute! works a treat! you can see the difference een after one bath!

We have had 2 dogs now at my work getting aludex baths, i worked for aberdeen PDSA for 2 years and it totally brings back memory's!!

used to bath a pug in the stuff every week, bless he got so excited about it! Used to race to the tub table, even after his bath times were long finished. He'd do his lil dancing bum wiggle and jump at our legs. Not used it in a few years tho, all the walk in mange cases we see at my practice have no money "init" and go to the RSPCA down the road. Used to have owners ask why they could do the baths at home. usually opening the consult door to the back, the smell was enough to put them off that idea, not to mention the fact you couldn't dry the dog (But he'll shake himself all over my newly painted wall/carpetted floor!) and the PPE you had to wear, lol!

I loved the smell of it too! Amazing the smells that conjur up memories, used to like the smell of O.P sheep dip- from a well ventilated distance! Also the loved the smell of clay and meths. (used in days of yore for showing sheep at agricultural shows).
