Do any of you use baby monitors during night duties? If so, what do you think of them and do you find them helpful to listen out for drip pump alarms etc while you are in another room? Any feedback much appreciated.

I used to use a BM when we had a fitting dog as it was usually impossible to keep a very close eye on them due to being in a large emergency clinic with one nurse/vet and lots of surgical cases. Cannot say how sensitive a tool it was but it did alert me some (?all) of the time to fits that would otherwise have gone un-noticed. These were in shoreline kennels so usually the noise that alerted me was kennel-related noise - don't know good it would be for other kennels.

It does depend on how much you spend on them to how well they work. Some can be placed with the baby and will let you know if a breath hasnt been taken within a period of time (not related to veterinary, I know) But definitely with baby monitors, you do get what you pay for.

LOL - I bought mine on ebay for a £5!

Re: Baby Monitors

[quote user="Louisesadieandshads"]
