He was a wire haired thing, had quite a long back, a bit like a dachshund.

It had recently bitten another member of the fsmily (son&amp;#39;s girlfriend) they were devistated but had made the right choice. In some cases it is the right thing to do rather than &amp;quot;passing the buck&amp;quot; which I think is what happened in his first home.&lt;/p&gt;

You can&amp;#39;t save them all (I should know I try!). Just think he could go to rescue kennels, get homed, bite someone who doesn&amp;#39;t know how to work with him, go back to kennels, gaining a whole heap more problems and get passed on again and again each time getting more stressed and more behaviour probs. You have saved him from this. If you could find the ideal home (and sometimes they don&amp;#39;t work out either!- see my JRT post!) and have the perfect O to work on him, than fab it can be awesome for the dog. But in my experience this doesn&amp;#39;t happen the first time. Or if the O is willing to commit 100% to a behaviour modifying program- doesn&amp;#39;t happen often either- sadly.&lt;/p&gt;
