hmmmmm spades can have flat blades as well you know the thing that makes them different is the fact that the shovel has the raised edges at the top of the blade, in fact most garden spades have a flat edge to the blade otherwise you wouldnt get very far when you are digging things up!

What's this all about. It's definitely spay. If only everyone was brung up as proper as what me did. My dilemma is : neuter or newter? I've had many sleepless nights over that one. By the way, Nightshade82, were you in the Sex Pistols about thirty years ago in your previous life?

The basis for the English language is obviously ***-eyed, then- we should be taking buckets and shovels to the seaside!!

What if you use a spade to shovel the snow, because you don't have a shovel??!! Should you call it a shovel because its doing a shovels job? And do the shovels get up in arms, as a spade is doing the job of a shovel, when it clearly shouldn't be. I think we should start a petition to protect the title!

Well instead of calling a spade a spade i apparently call a shovel a spade. Infact i have never used a spade!

a spade is not the same thing as a shovel. a spade has a blade like bit and a shovel is flat

and desexed is hilarious! i love learning new words for things from other places. makes me giggle. :)

I use Spey or sometimes Ovario-Hysterectomy. I heard that the word spey means to just remove the ovaries only and not the Uterus so maybe on consent forms it is better to put OH.

I once had a client say they wanted their cat neutralised.

Thought it meant neutered, but "dressed" sounds more like there is something on display, so wondered if it meant the opposite! Nice, though, lovely descriptive terminology!!
