Do we have to put a note on every thing we check off? Even the little things like manual handling?

So I'd suggest keeping a diary of things you have come across with your CC and go through the standards (or how ever its called now!) to find out what units to concentrate on first.

Re: NPL help

Ah great! Im just wondering if i can post date things? My practice is really busy so I've done a load of things that Im sure would be good to go on the NPL,but is that allowed? Im the first student my clinical coach has had so we are both very new to it! It has to be better than the old system, my first year portfolio was such a headache!

thanks

Re: NPL help
do any of you feel that the npl seems a bit to easy (for us the coaches) , i'm so used the the piles of work for the nvq that i keep thinking there has to be a catch somewhere!
I think that it leaves us clinical coaches with a bit more time, to do the importants stuff, like practically training our students and doing tutorials. That has to be a good thing

Re: NPL help

I have hopefully bypassed the NPL and will qual at some point in 2011

My colleagues observations seen to be that it is much easier to log cases, but that cases you are allowed to log off, depend on what unit you have finished at college - so you might have a really interesting exotic ga case during week 29 of your training, but since you didnt finish ga at college until week 30, then you can't be signed off

I have NO experience of the NPL apart from staff room hearsay, but I would love to be able to understand it better, and hopefully, if I ever qualify, help svn's the way my colleagues have helped me!

Sorry - my post hasn't been very helpful!

Re: NPL help

do any of you feel that the npl seems a bit to easy (for us the coaches) , i'm so used the the piles of work for the nvq that i keep thinking there has to be a catch somewhere!

Re: NPL help

i use it for client/pet reference numbers as its an optional reflective account. no need to write an essay on the task.

Re: NPL help

The notes are an optional.
