Thanks for that. I guessed it would be windy by the size of the waves and year round surfing shown on various photos I've googled! We've researched hotels and found a couple of what look like really good deals with 4 star hotels so think it's pretty likely we'll go ahead. I haven't been able to find out re vaccinations as the two brochures I have say different things, as do various websites. I THINK there are no compulsory ones but there seems to be a difference of opinion regarding the optional ones.

One of the girls I work with has been, she really enjoyed it but offered a word of caution that it gets very windy and really sandblasts you! Quality of hotels very variable apparently - check out TripAdvisor reviews before you book. We were torn between Cape Verde and the Dominican Republic last Jan - went to the latter and loved it but still wouldn't rule out Cape Verde for the future.
