I dont drink - but I can remember taking a sip of gluhwein in Austria and thought it was foul. A couple of years ago one of my friends sent me a bottle of gluwein syrup over and if you mix some of this with cranberry/ raspberry juice and leave out the wine completely and warm it up a little it is actually quite nice

Was in Edinburgh yesterday and the german market is on in princes st-never been before and the atmosphere was fantastic.Having never tried mulled wine before because i dont like red wine i wanted to have a taste.So tried mulled beer and mulled wine and can safely say i dont like it lol!

look on rick stien's website from the christmas show he did earlier in the week it looked amazing.

When I make it I basically poor red wine, sugar and orange juice into a pan with the spices them top up with brandy just before I serve - yum

My home made stuff wasn't nice to begin with!! And this time of year, I just crave warm, spicey wine, it takes me ack to being in Avoriaz, snow boarding.......

You can also use Indian chai tea bags from Twinings. just add some orange peel and a bit of sugar and brandy. makes it yummers.

I've tried numerous supermarlet bottled mulled wines over the years. Can't beat Asda, warmed up with a few bits of your own added in for good measure!

You can get mulled white wine in M & S too! I had hot spiced cider on sunday at a christmas market....mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
