I've been writing out a poem for my nan and read it out at her funeral ... spookily enough, my twin has thought the same so we are going to put our poems together and read a verce out each...
this is that I've come up with:

Just thought I'd give you all an update......

Her funeral was last week, we had so much snow but that caused no problems - thank god! The day went lovely.. she would have loved seeing all the family together :)

My sister and I did go up in front of everyone at the catherdral and read out the poem! We held it together - until we sat down - then the tears came! People were coming up to us all day saying how lovely it was.. So glad we did it.. I miss her so much - she left a ring to me and (one to my sister) I kiss it everyday.. sounds silly I know, but wearing it makes her feel close to me..

as for kissing the ring it doesnt sound silly at all, my gran left me her engagement ring and I plan to get it re-sized soon so I can wear it

Re: .thoughts please... xx

Just thought I'd give you all an update......

Def agree with this, my Grandma would have hated to see me all upset and being down. I'd rather someone celebrated my life rather than morn my death. Your Nan'll be up there, listening to your poem, thinking "thats my grandaughter!" and bet she'll shed a tear at those wonderful words too, and giggle at the end!
