The more info the better, so thank you.

I'm very interested in the COAPE course, but I'm more interested in canine behaviour than cat and I wasn't sure if there was a course more suited for that.

Also have to write a dissertation seems to sound a little scary

I'm not currently planning on setting up my own business and who be doing it from the veterinary practice I'm working in.

I am a COAPE member and can highly recommend it and it is also a recognised qualification outside of the vet world. I also have a BSc (Hons) in animal behaviour and have a hobby behaviour business. If you are thinking of carrying out behaviour work then there are some strict guidelines being talked about which you should be aware of. Your best checking out the APBC website about courses in behaviour and also the ASAB website. Anyone wanting to carry out behaviour work will require their CCAB qualification.

I wouldn't waste money on other courses which do not carry any weight as in recognised qualifications. I know the COAPE ones seem expensive but actually are well worth it. Alpha training is set up by Sarah Whitehead who used to be a COAPE tutor and now runs her own training company. She used to work with the highly regarded John Fisher.

Soz if this is a little too much info in one go but its a bit of a mine field at the moment regarding courses. Anyway I hope this helps

X
