I spent 3 weeks as a volly in Vic Falls, Zimbabwe in september, volunteering with lions and im going back in 3 weeks to Zambia as an intern.

Incredible projects that will blow your mind :)

Thankyou everybody. Ive sent a few emails out to various places..just waiting to hear back now... Im an RVN by the way, so looking for nursey work..but generally anything animally really. But, not a place that asks for millions of pounds to work for free.

A while ago these guys were advertising to PAY vet staff to go out and vasectomise their vervet monkeys (unable to be released back into the wild and needing to maintain population control in their captive colonies)

Worth emailing them to see if they need any professional help for a month or two. They prob won't pay you but they may well reduce the vol fee?

You don't say what sort of project you'd like and what your own experience is, but it may be worth you checking with Worldwide Veterinary Services - www.wvs.org.uk - who place both veterinary professionals and non-qualified volunteers with animal welfare and veterinary projects with local charities around the world.
