I would definatly echo what the others have said anout the credit card dont do it, i have spent the past 4yrs living in debt caused by overuse of my credit card then not being able to pay it off, i would sit down and write down what u spend each month and be totally honest, i withdraw a certain amount from my account each month and that is what i live off then only use my card in emergancies that way i know that there is enough money i there to pay off all my direct debits.

As for having no money now is there no wa that u can ask work for an advance iv done it a few times asked for £20 out of petty cah until payday and then pay the back the worse they can say is no and if they do then i would sit down and explain that u just need a little help this month and that they'l get the money back on pay day

Aw babe! .. I can bring a few quid round to you.. like £10 or £20? I know you probably won't take it from me, but I know what it's like.. and I can sympathise with you on that one cause I'd be the same! lol.. you can pay me back when you can or at end of month if you want? no rush xxx

I completely agree with you StephB, you definitely don't need a credit card if you can't afford things already - how are you going to pay back the card with interest?? You should definitely cut it up - as someone who has been bankrupt due to this sort of situation mounting up and getting out of hand I would urge you to just sit down and look at what is going out vs what is coming in.

Sit down and do a specific budget, when you're paid at the start of the month decide what is absolutely essential - such as petrol and take out your budget for that section and keep it somewhere where you won't dip into it unless it is for your car.

I have seriously been there, I know what it's like.... believe me you don't want to get yourself stuck in debt.

Would canceling some services like your internet and phone at home help take some of the sting out of it? do you have cable or sky tv that you could cancel? do buses run near you? what about getting a ride with coworkers or with a neighbor? Personally if you can't afford things now the last thing you need is a credit card. that will only make matters worse. I would cut it up and forget about it being an option and reassess your needs and wants. I think you should speak to your work about whats going on. Everyone is finding it tough at the moment but you have to be honest with yourself and borrowing money that isn't yours from the bank or credit cards is the wrong answer and half the reason the economy is so f*cked at the moment.

Do you not have an overdraft you could dip into until you get paid?

I know it isn't ideal but at least you will be able to get to work tomorrow. I know how you feel, i am constantly living out of overdraft by the end of the month and it gets me down too :(

I keep getting told that i won't struggle forever but my wage isn't likely to go up so i can't see an end to it.
