He was dumped in London and has come to the country to live with us and our herd of beasties. (had him 5 weeks).
He is FAB! And doing really well training wise, very bright and loves to play tug and food. I'm hoping

Re: toilet training-any ideas?!?

Well sent cyst sample to the lab after he dod 9 wees in 10 min, and he has +++ Calcuim oxalate crystals!!!!!!! poor sod!!!

At least its not my crap toilet training!

Re: toilet training-any ideas?!?

Thanks for you thoughts!!!!!

He wont wee on pads or paper, just floor or soft things. Thank he has had harsh toilet training before I had him, he wouldn't toilet in front of me- hid behind stuff so worked on just ignoring any toileting and now he will toilet in front of me and on command. He ignores me cleaning up after him (try and encourage him away from the area in a neutral way before cleaning up. Do lots of praise for going outside and act not bothered/boring if he goes inside.

He is def not marking. he is not a bossy boy, he is very babyish, if it wasn't for his teething Id thick he was a lot younger than he is. None of my dogs are bossy (some call it dominant-not going to go there on that one!), all are neutered and happy relaxed dogs, all play nicely with him and all share toys, chews with out problems.

Maybe I just need to give him more time?!? He is a boy so bound to be a bit backwards... ;0)

Re: toilet training-any ideas?!?

Attention seeking? as you then have to clean up after him - although doesn't fit in with weeing when comes back indoors.

My labrador has a tendency of late to go out for a wee, comes running back indoors for/ breakfast/ say hello and then poo's indoors. It is almost like he 'forgets' to do both outdoors as indoors is way too exciting. I have to shut him out so he does both number 1's and number 2's outside!

One suggestion I do have is; I have seen a lot of bed wetting in kittens and puppies that have be raised in a kennel/ cage environment, and from this they learn bedding is toilet area. Maybe try using puppy pads in crate as then still comfy, and progress to half pad/ bed in crate?

Need a behaviourist here, but at what age do they start with dominace weeing? Have a 5mth foster staffy with me at the mo, and he has twice wee'd on mines bed, and previous 8mth staffy foster was the same.

He is crypt orchid but that shouldn't matter.

Re: toilet training-any ideas?!?

You say there are other dogs there...is peeing on everything a territorial issue perhaps? x
