I don't feel its right to be calling myself a veterinary nurse, yet i am not enrolled with the rcvs to be a trainee/student

Re: unqualified but experienced.
If i were you i'd call myself auxillary nurse. I think nursing assistant is too similar to the ANA, which is a qualification in itself.

I personally prefer nursing assistant over auxillary nurse as a member of the public would probably just hear the word nurse.

Re: unqualified but experienced.
I have been in your situation in the past - quite a few years experience, but not currently enrolled with RCVS, and I was quite happy with auxilliary nurse. I used to introduce myself to clients as such, and tell them I had x amount of years experience, and they seemed to understand it, and be happy with it.

Re: unqualified but experienced. It's good to see a lot of practices are becoming more mindful of the term 'trainee'. Even with your other qualifications, as you say, you're not enrolled to call yourself a student, and there's no such thing as an 'unqualified vet nurse'.

Re: unqualified but experienced.
Sorry if that comes across rude, i really am not, as i can see you are asking on what to call yourself... I would still settle for student nurse in my opinion even if you are experienced.
