&lt;p&gt;mls of volatile = (CxFxTxM) / (2412xD)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;where&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;C&amp;nbsp;= concentration %&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;F = fresh gas flow (litres/min)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;T = time (mins)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;M = molecular weight of volatile anaesthetic (see data sheet)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;D = density of volatile anaesthetic (see data sheet)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2412 = a constant =&amp;nbsp;molar volume of gas at room temperature.&lt;/p&gt;

I am just trying to price up drugs and what each procedure costs and it got me thinking about the Iso..how do you work out what to charge for a procedure at your practice? Obviously its different as we are not charging but simply working out the costs of the drugs used in the procedure. Might contact Iso manufacturers and see if they can shed any light, surely they must have a calculation to be able to sell it..ie 250ml will last for 3 average bitch spays or what not... (dont take that as real estimate! Tis a long time since I was anywhere near a bitch spay!) &lt;/p&gt;
