Thanks Nick, it is really kind of you to offer help and advice. It is really nice to know that you have support out there. I certainly bare it in mind when i'm struggling with FFD calculations.

I know exactly where you're coming from, although I found that it was too simplified at college- in order to understand it, I had to research it in much more depth-for some reason, I couldn't just accept the basic information I was given, it never seemed to sink in! I needed to find out "Why?" all the time and our lecturer kep saying "it doesn't matter why! You don't need to know that bit!"

I think I've pretty much forgotten most of it now. I should do a refresher!

this is also a good book. althou a bit pricey!

and also the old BSAVA Manual of Diagnostic Imaging is a good one too. Althou no longer in print so might be able to get it 2nd hand off ebay or amazon

Radiography was the subject I found the most difficult to learn when I was training, but when simplified it was much easier to understand and I really enjoy it now! One book that I would really recommend as a way of learning the subject from the basics is this workbook:

it simplifies the topic enough for you to build up to learning it in more detail that is needed. Makes much more sense than just reading through pages of text as it gives you a different way of remembering things.
