All you can do is apply to as many training practices as possible with your cover letter and CV. You will have to be prepared to get letters saying they have no jobs, but you have to keep trying. I started working at a local town vets as a receptionist/nurse assistant. The saw a job advertised in the Vet Times for experienced/assistant nurse. So I thought "what the heck" applied and luckily got the position. This was a more nursing role and I got to help out with loads of stuff, X-rays, dentals and animal restraining. After 5 years of this, I now have a job as a SVN in a referral practice.

The moral of the story is keep trying and don't refuse a position such as kennel hand or vet nurse assistant role to get your foot in the door.

Good luck
