suppose i am lucky that we have (usually) plenty of anaesthetists plus we have the vet students who do anaesthesia rotation (obv supervised by the qualifieds) so that pretty much doubles our anaesthesia quota during term time

The 'classic' one I had this week was a cat with a fractured hind leg that we x-rayed, told them needed referral for fixation, arranged the referral... and then couldn't get hold of them. Nothing for weeks.

The cat turned up this week for neutering. When we got the vet to come and speak to the owner they had 'healed' the cats leg themselves at home using Reiki so didn't need the referral.

Under GA we did do a thorough check and the leg is significantly shorter, has a huge callus and is swollen, and the cat is still lame, but in the owners eye is completely fixed and therefore they will do nothing more to treat it

Seriously?!!! I've had 2 Reiki attunements and you are taught that if there is ANY suspicion of a fracture you should NOT give reiki, as it can speed up healing times, and if there is a malunion then obviously you don't want a increased healing time!
