hi, i am currently looking for an apprenticeship or a volunteer placement before returning to study at college, and have had a reply from a head vet nurse of one of the practices near me- which i am very excited about, but i am meeting this lady for

Re: meeting for a prospective apprenticeship?

Well done! You got a reply AND she wants to meet you!

Be yourself, it always looks good to be prepared so I think it's a good idea to take your Record of achievement. I'd say treat it like a job interview, when you get there it may be totally relaxed but at least you'll look like you came with something, were prepared and make sure you have LOTS OF QUESTIONS!

Good luck xx

Re: meeting for a prospective apprenticeship?

I went to a 'chat' at the practice i work at now. I went straight from work (at a vets) so was in my uniform but if an option i would dress smart/casual. Just try and be yourself and appear confident (you will be nervous and she will expect this) and friendly. It probably will just be an informal chat to get to know you and see if you will fit into the team.

When i had my chat the head nurse asked about what experience i had and what i could do practically. If you don't have previous experience in a vets just appear eager to learn and knowledgable about what the job entails.

It is a good sign that you have a reply so you are 90% there, good luck!
