I have plugged my DAP in and done the trick - shpuld have just done that in the first place rather than trying zylkene trying to save a few pennies!! We are unfortunately still having fireworks round here at weekends and think it will be till new year now so just going to leave the DAP on. He does get a bit restless but thankfully with the DAP next to his bed no more sleepless nights!!

Re: Behaviour help - please!

have you tried putting an item of worn clothing in his bed with him, so it smells of your scent, that may help :)

Re: Behaviour help - please!

Sounds similar to my little monster! He was always fine being left at night (after spending a few nights scratching at the door!), but then he got a bout of cystitis. He would make this awful crying/whining noise to be let out for a wee. Thats fine, I know what cystitis does to your bladder! Then, on the 3rd day, he was getting better, but still woke me up crying. I got up, took him outside and he just looked at me wagging his tail and looking very pleased with himself! Grrrr!

Unfortunately, it took him much longer to unlearn this habit than it did to learn it, we still get the odd night where I get woken up with it (and I had never even heard him make this noise before he had cystitis!). It was a pain in the bum to ignore him, but once I knew his cystitis had cleared completely, thats what I did.

So I hope this settles your worries that he isn't going to suddenly become a nightmare dog!

Re: Behaviour help - please!

Not what you want to hear I am afraid, but you need to not get up to him. Being there with him is reward enough! He loves you to bits!

Try to stick it out for a few days if you can and hopefully it will get his routine back on track Good luck!!
