you coudl join vetpol , it is mainly practice managers on their but some nurses too hwowever they have a documnet sharing thing that has lots of useful documents that might help you

Hi, I know this is an old post but we are just going through all the above mentioned and wondered if you could either fax or email me an example of the risk assesment forms and any SOPs you think may be useful? Do you need each practices logo on the SOPs etc or can they all be on the main surgerys headed paper (if headed paper is required)? Thanks :-)

Just wanted to say thanks again to your both - I made a start on it all today and your stuff was really helpful. We had some SOPs for certain tasks, but not for rooms! A lot of the health and safety stuff was great too. You're both stars!

Our practice manual keeps getting bigger though........... I think I'm going to give everyone a disc next time to save a few trees!

Yep - our annual check and also our 2nd practice is becoming a brand new TP. Bloody training.....great to have nurses in greens....pain in the a**e doing the paperwork.

Thank you both soooo much for your help - my head nurses (one for each practice) are off on maternity leave and 6 months pregnant respectively so trying to juggle a lot of stuff at the moment. Phew!

I'll fax you ours on Monday to see if they help. We did risk assessments and SOPs for anything with "risk". We also did cleaning theatre, kennels, isolation, cytotoxic drugs etc.

Ours aren't all displayed because we just don't have the places to put them but are in a file and staff sign to say they have read them. PSS and IV/EV seemed happy with that.

I take it this is for a IV/EV visit?

I did a tonne of these at my last practice, but they were saved on the computer there, sorry. I spent ages researching an SOP for maintaining dental instruments too! (practice standards requirement). Not much use to you, sorry, but at least this will bump up your post!
