Think there's a bit of vet bashing here. I have to say I've worked very closely with James and he's been both a great boss and good mate.

Although I worked with many other fantastic vets, it was definately James who I went to first as I know I'd get a very honest and realistic opinion. He is an absolutely fantastic vet and an even better surgeon.

For whatever reason he and the others choose to do the programme, I think the main point is that we are highlighting the importance of identifying conditions early and seeking veterinary attention without being too afraid.

I bet Doctors and nurses and pull all sorts of faults with 'embarassing bodies' but I'm betting that programme has pushed hundreds of people to the doctors when they were otherwise too shy..? Thus getting the treatment they need...

Don;t we want this for our furry chums?

Lol, I said to my bf my horse wouldn't go in there! Then as the pony walked out there was a massive puddle and he said mine would probably spook at that...it was a very good pony!

i dont get this it makes me so mad its the same with the human one why wait till you can appear in front of the nation if you have a problem, but those poor animals who have had to wait so long for much needed treatment esp from rescue centres who should now better

It irritated me right at the beginning when all the vets were introduced but not even a cursory mention of VNs.

The only VN to display her VN badge was the one assisting with the paraphymosis dog. Are the others not qualified? I would have thought that this in one area that any tv programme would be keen to enhance in the wake of the Panorama "investigation".

My poor fiancee was horrified by the rabbit teeth removal. Everyone on this site knows what's involved but as a member of the general public, he thought it looked brutal.

Yes, rabbit thing I was a bit shocked at as didnt seem like it got the best care in the world.

I used to work with a vet off there. Not being funny and no offence intended but most vets wouldnt dream of doing a show like that - some poeple just enjoy being the centre of attention. I woud never wnat to work with said person again, and frequently refused to assist due to the terrible clinical decisions not in animals interest, never listening to others advice etc. How many more of these shows are we going to have?

Me too... i had just popped into see my mum on way home from work and saw the incisor removal, my mum was a bit shocked.... i was more shocked when they said in 1 hour it will go home!! Poor bun

yeah they recruited nurses in spring/summer. Id be a bit miffed having to wear trainee colours if i was qualified

Thought it was very good, though have questions - are the nurses trainee's as they're in light green? Why did the vet wear gloves when handling the rabbit puss? Bit shocked they were sending the rabbit home 1 hour post op!
