the muscle or perhaps in my case- lard has been twitchin over my lower part of my rib cage today. weird!

Hi i have had recurring twitchy right eyelid for many years now - i get my eyes tested every year due to astigmatism and the optician says its nothing to do with the eye or eye muscles having a problem but because my 'eye's are tired' and so did the doctor when i asked him.

i use cold compresses on my eyes to cool them and also have tried some homeopathy which has helped - only problem they are only short term solutions till i get my next bad nights/interrupted sleep!

also try not sleeping on your front if you do this seems to help too

what happens if you try and make your eyelid twitch?

have done this a few times with people who say they cannot get rid of hiccoughs - 'I'll give you a quid if you can do that again' . Havnt lost any money yet!

yeh, ive quite often asked people if they can see my eyelid twitching, feels like is a huge thing happening but no1 else sees it!

i get twitchy eyelids usually when really tired,anxious or stressed. its weird and kind freaky feeling.

In the interest of science (and cos I was a bit tired) I had an afternoon nap! To see if it would help with my STUPID eyelid.

The answer is no. So I am now resorting to alcohol and a long nights sleep.

blepharospasm is very common - i get it frequently, can be tiredness or stress related , can also be caused by a weakness in the muscle. Eye exercises may help a lot as may acupuncture shiatsu or general relaxation tecniques

I used to get it happening quite frequently to my eyes but never looked into it. It's the weirdest feeling isn't it? Caro, twitching throat sounds scary and very odd!

I get that with my eye and also at times with my throat. it is a horrid feeling in the throat and gets scary at times, the eye drives me nuts. I did google the info on them once but forget what it said but may be worth a google to see what you can find.

It doesn't do it constantly thank goodness or I would be going mad.

Just sometimes it has a mad one.

Have tried wearing my glasses too, but makes no difference. Tut.

poor you that must be so so annoying! SOmetimes mine does that (not for aslong!) i find eye freshner eye drops help, also if its really bad i put a damp cloth on my eye and put gentle pressure on it for a few minutes.

if its still really bad you should go to your doc, make sure that theres no underlying infection.
