I've just ordered the book on it to start it next week. A few of us at work are doing it. A couple of them have been doing it for over a week and are finding it really good. They are loosing weight and they don't feel hungry!
I started going to slimming world at the end of august - spent 30 quid for 6 weeks and lost approx half stone. Because I am watching the pennies I decided 5 quid a week was more than I could really afford and have carried on the diet by myself - have now lost 1stone and 1lb total. The number of different diets around you name them and Ive tried them but this was my second go at slimming world and I find it a sensible way of losing weight. In agreement with previous poster high protein no carb diets are bad news for your kidneys

With no carbs your body burns fat (that's the goal, right?) but the products of fat metabolism are those lovely ketones. Your body goes into a state of ketosis leading to ketoacidosis. It also puts massive strain on your kidneys trying to get rid of all that excess protein. You need to be extra careful you're still getting some of your energy from carbohydrates throughout this whole diet otherwise you could be putting yourself in trouble.

Good luck with the weight loss, be sensible and do some fun exercise too, like swimming or dancing! Buy some 'target clothes' as well, something amazing that you work towards fitting into, that's what I did!

Re: Dukan Diet...

From what I remember, one of the nurses at work tried this and fainted after a couple of days.

Re: Dukan Diet...

I have given up with diets as they never seem to work.
