the regualtions are put in place by the FSA on insurance companiesand it was changed recently, you basically can not reccomend an insurance company but advise owners on the different levels of covers available and best ones for them.

You can display leaflets for a chosen company aslong as you are accredited to them i believe. We do pet plan and our own healthcare plan that we run.

Crazy computer! Well, spoke to petplan, they said you can put any leaflets in, providing you don't go "these are what we reccommend" unless you are an Approved, accredited type practice. You can stress the importance of pet insurance tho.

By being an accredited practice you have been trained to do the following

Pet insurance information and

advice

Display pet insurance leaflets

Recommend the concept of pet insurance

Provide information on Petplan policies

Give general advice on pet insurance

Give advice on Petplan insurance

Access to Petplan promotional

materials and sales aids

But must not.....

Give advice on other insurers’ policies

You cannot reccommend other ins co policy or sell other ins co policy

I think you can display ins leaflets, but you can't say to people "oh, take out this one as its good, but don't go with this one as they suck"

I'm not sure if your wanting to send this info to clients, as you could be classed as promoting policy's you shouldn't be. I'd contact the FSA to be 101% sure.

Depends if you are an accredited practice (i think that's what they call it)...we are for PetPlan so not allowed to recommend/talk about other companies. All members of staff are PIAs. Suits me just fine cos PetPlan are my fav!
