It certainly provided background knowledge for the first year course. I knew alot of the anatomy by the time i started my first year. definatetly worthwhile doing.

hope this helps.

I'm now a mentor for one of our nursing assistants who is doing the VCA course. She has to do a lot more assignments and its set out a bit like the VN portfolio whereas when I did the ANA course, there was just 12 (i think) case logs to do and I did all the exams in one go at the end. Her course is run by CAW so it is a bit more structured than mine was and she gets quite a lot of support through them. I did the ANA course through the BVNA so not sure what support SJS give. The exams are much the same for both courses but the VCA course encourages more practical involvement. On a slightly more trivial note, when you pass the ANA course you get a badge!

Re: ANA or VCA

I agree, the ANA was a good course, was very informative and gaveme a good grasp of things before i started diploma course x

Re: ANA or VCA

I did the ANA via SJS and i really enjoyed it.
