Got a call this morning to say he got worse over night, and they had done all they could. He was put to sleep this morning. Absolutely devastated.

May look at another dog, as I still think Cali needs a buddy, but absolutely gutted about Harry

Well, I had hoped to be getting him today, but he has been in the vets since last Friday. Originally with a gastric infection. Today when I phoned, I was told the vets are really concerned about him. His temperature has rocketed and he is off his food etc. They took bloods today and hope to know what it is soon and get him sorted. Have to phone back tomorrow to find out how he is, but the woman at the rescue centre reiterated many times that they were really worried about him

I told my boss today, so I'm hoping for some free training advice (he is a super expert on dog training and behaviour) , and my colleagues have loads of experience too so I have a good support network for helping him settle and training him. Best of luck with your addition I am now terribly impatient and just wish I could get him now!!

Love Love love collies! He'll be a challenge, I'm sure, but they are so rewarding and loyal-not like my little horror bag! I love him and wouldn't change him for the world, but if someone more nteresting came along, I'm pretty sure he'd be off without a backward glance!

I might be getting a second addition this weekend- a rescue cavalier that I have mentioned on here. He's going to be interesting! I might be on here asking for advice on widdling, yapping ckcs's by 6pm on Sunday!

About 3, possibly slightly younger. Yeah, I like Harry

He is super timid, clearly been hit and badly treated. As soon as he was introduced to Cali (my dog) he perked up and started wagging his tail, so I think she may be able to help him become more confident in time

Well I went to the cat and dog home here, and even though I was looking for a small dog, I am now getting a collie! :) Will need a lot of work, as was stray for about 5 weeks and in a terrible state when the warden brought him in, but he loves my current dog (and vice versa) so they should get on well. Get to pick him up next week, once he's had the all clear from the vet.

Those are the words I want to hear, haha.

I had her at the park today and she was playing with a JRT and I thought, ah she'd love this more often. I suppose I will be totally happy that its the right thing to do if I find a wee dog that gets along with her and vice versa, any other issues (training etc) I can deal with (I have a boss who is highly experienced with behavioural issues!)

errr, depends on the dogs involved, I suppose. If they are both relaxed and easily introduced to a new dog, I don't see the problem doing it straight away. The only issue I would have is the honeymoon effect- has she settled in properly herself yet?

I found with my rescue, he showed his true colours after a few weeks, but, I believe it can be a bit longer??
