Really struggling to keep my head above water on my wage so was thinking of doing some cat sitting around the times i work. I work long 12 hour shifts so couldn

Re: Pet sitting

Thanks for the replies!

Im not so sure about it now because i think i will really struggle with time, i leave the house at 7.15am and don't get home until 7.30-8pm so not sure i would be able to fit it in. Definatly something i will keep in mind for the future though, guess i will just have to do a car boot sale or find another way to raise some cash.

Re: Pet sitting

Hi, I do this and would not advise anyone to do it without insurance as if anythign does go wrong you are in a mess. Also all of my customers sign forms to cover both myself and them and again I think you would be silly not to. If you want form templates let me know and can email them to you as an example. Insurnace is not that expensive if you are just pet visiting, I have mine though pet business insurance.

The other thing to think about is time! I do not take on any new pet sits and just have regulars now but I have people who really rely on me and therefore if a couple of those fall together I can be knackered. At present I get up at5.30am just to get everything done before work.

Hope this helps

Re: Pet sitting

I have a fair few friends who do it without insurance. If your only doing a few visits its a pretty small risk, personally i would do it if i had the time.

None of my friends have a consent form for the people to sign unless they need medical treatments giving ie diabetics with injections etc.
