Hi Guys -

Ok up date on whats gone on.

I had a small meeting with the head nurse and practice manager - Unfortunately not a lot has been done. So on that i had handed my notice in.

i have spoke to a few members of staff since then, and almost everybody there has made some form of complaint about her, and so many nurses have left because of her?!?

I am more frustrated that they have just ignored this issue (as lovely as they both are, and have tried to help) I feel Sorry for people who have to put up with her.....I said i was leaving because of her. But i suppose i am 'just another Nurse'

I have got a new Job already sorted, so hopefully this one will work out better.

I think because of the complaint that you have made, if there is no change in her behaviour, you are well within your rights to say that you refuse to work with her and give your ntice, effective immediately. If they can't resolve this situation, its their own fault. Perhaps if you make a point of this resignation being entirely due to her (even if its not completely!), something will have to be done about her.

i would speak to them when you go back and see how the land lies, say you are on the verge of handing your notice in because of her and see what they say.

steph - Apparently this is her last warning, but im more than 100% sure that she wont be going anywhere soon. I will give them 1-2weeks notice, depending on how the situation is when i go back.

We will have to meet up soon steph...so i have a break from wedding plans lol - not to long now :) yay!!

hey shell, i'd give them some notice, have you spoken to company director/regional manager type person about it all, surely if other nurses have stated the vet has been the reason they have left they need to consider the vets future within the company.

Anyways, give me a shout you have my number if you wanna chat.

I left my last job and only gave 2 weeks notice when I was supposed to give a month. My arguement was that I hadn't been given my 3 month probation meeting and in my contract it said that my notice period until then was a week. They said back to me that I had passed my probation but seeing as I wasn't given the chance to discuss this with them I only gave them 2 weeks.

When I went to interviews I was just honest with them and said how much I hated it and how unhappy I was so wanted to leave ASAP. They didn't bother asking them for a reference as I had been there such a short time and went to my previous job instead. As you haven't signed a contract I would give them 2 weeks notice.

Sorry to hear things arent good with you at the moment. I think alot of us could empathise with your situation and your experience with depression, so please give any of us a shout anytime.

I dont know what the legal stance is on the notice period- might be worth checking out with the BVNA legal helpline- I tend to agree with what Emma said about the effect on future jobs.

I would give them notice, not because you necessarily have to, but because future jobs will (even if they don't say so) be a little put off by you just leaving.
