I really want to get my little pup socialised asap and some have said as long as you are careful about where he goes he can go out after his first jab, but to take

Re: Puppies

I wouldn't want to take my puppy to puppy classes until it was fully vaccinated. Your dog can go outside with you if carrying him but dont introduce any dogs to him as theres a risk of him catching something.

He should be able to go outside in your garden if no other dogs use it (unvaccinated)

Puppy socilaisation classes may accept puppies who've had 1st vaccinations but depends where these are and who runs them. At our vet practice we hold puppy parties for dogs from 8-14weeks old and aslong as they've had there 1st vax they can join with the other pups.

Re: Puppies

We give the 1st vacc at 9 weeks, the 2nd at 12wks and then wait another 2 weeks!

Re: Puppies

We always say wait for two weeks, until they can have contact with other dogs, the ground etc. When my dogs were pups I carried them around in a back pack which I held in my arms. In that way they got used to seeing things and hearing various sounds etc. So they began thier socialisation process safely. Of course they were small puppies as JRT's

Enjoy every second with your puppy, your life will be enriched by such a treasured friend!
