Nothing wrong at all. I've never owned a papered/registered dog - my GSDs were bred by a friend from working lines and my greyhounds have all been retired. The only time I've been given a pedigree was for one of my lurchers!

I think insurance companies ask about the dominant breed as a breed's defects can be transmitted even though the dog isn't purebred - we regularly treat a Shar Pei cross for skin problems and have seen Labradoodles with hip dysplasia.

Love the list of made up dog breeds - I have a small house so the Collapso would probably suit me

Re: New breeds of dog

l love saying.

It wouldn't surprise me. These designer crossbreeds annoy me soooo much! What is wrong with calling a dog a crossbreed? My mum got our collie x springer 14 years ago from an ad in the paper and she cost £50. These days they would call her a sprollie or something equally ridiculous and slap a massive price tag on her! I just think people are really stupid spending so much money on a mutt. Go to your local rescue centre if you want a mongrel! Rant over.

Re: New breeds of dog

Has anyone noticed on the petplan claim forms now....if you state croosbreed they ask which is the most dominant of the cross??
