Just read Gillians, I was in labour from 6pm on the fir night and did not have Steph till 8.30pm on the sat night, waters broke 8.30 am and was contracting every few minutes from waters breaking...... they left me too, was not fully dilated though, this did not happen till about 2 hours before she decided to appear.Too many drugs as well, I was well out of it.

Whereas Dina was a total of 1 hr 20 min from beginning to end.

Mine were 7lb 1oz and 6lb 7oz respectively.No stitches with second, ahhhhhhhh that was bliss

5 days before due date, just got back from doing a shop @ Tesco. Thought need a wee! (as all heavily pregnant women do after any kind of movement lol). About 9:30pm on the Sat night. Waters went while sat on the loo (good shot). Phoned the maternity ward who said go in. 1st contraction @ 10pm on the way into the ward. Hooked me up to the machines & @ 11:30pm said yes you are in labour & yes you are staying. Gave me gas & air, took 2 breaths & threw it back @ the midwife shouting "I'm going to be sick" (very classy me). Midwife wanted to give me pethidine but I saw the size of the needle! Was on maternity leave from a mixed practice, we use smaller needles on cattle lol! Amber was born @ 1:07am Sun am weighing in @ 6lb 12oz

Gillian thats terrible you were left so long, I would have been fuming. Had a whelping bitch been left that long and there were problems as a result, we could all find ourselves in real trouble!

If you read my other posts regarding the birth of Phillip, I actually complained formally about my treatment in the 1st hosp I went to and guess what?......... the tracer they put on me to monitor my contractions had gone 'missing' from my file

My 1st labour was induced 1 week early - high blood pressure. Started drip at 5.30pm, 1st contraction 8.30pm, no pain relief at all, had my daughter Heather at 1am. Hurt as progressed so quickly but as only 4 1/2 hours in total, not too bad at all.

Second pregnancy not fun. Started my labour at 6pm ish, into hospital at 2am, I was fully dilated and having contractions SOOOOO frequently (just on entenox) at 6am - but told that as my waters wouldn't go that they would need to be punctured - and just in case of complications they would ait till the doc was on the ward. I assume they thought they would go on their own- but they didn't Then had 4 very hazy hours that I wouldn't want to repeat, before Doc arrived at 10am. The only thing that made the wait worthwhile was the explosion that happened when the doc punctured the bag - put it this way, she and the midwife got wet! Then had the worst 10mins of my life- Callum arrived like a rocket and I felt I was being turned inside out. 9lb 4oz!!! But he was suckling by 10.15am!!!!!! All the pain worth it - but yet to be forgotton! Amazes me to this day that they left me so long, virtually unsupervised, fully dilated - and with a second pregnancy. Wouldn't leave a whelping bitch that long without it progressing!

That has me crossing my legs at the thought!! Imagine the pain - no wonder she didn't want to come out! She knew she wouldn't fit!!1 Hannah was 9lb & that was big enough!!!

LOL - I can't believe the doc said that to you! I hope was being jovial, and not one of the NHS finance committee!

10lb 1oz! No wonder you needed a c- section you poor thing!

Aren't they beautiful though? New born babas!

hehe, exactly Charlotte, now the key for the utility door has gone missing which means I cant feed dogs, wash/dry clothes/ feed rabbits etc etc etc without having to go outside through the main garage door........ of course, no one knows anything about it they have always had a 'thing' for keys, you would think I would learn!!

o yes he knows I have seen pictures of him dressed in her tights too!!!

I wouldn't worry either, ellie plays with cars and trains and pretends to be a dinosaur!!!

She also does the blue for boys pink for girls - must be nursery!

well i can't speak for the westlife lol, but i am not worried - he is also into action man & spiderman, and tells me frequently that 'blue is for boys, and pink is for girls'.

he must have picked the colour thing up at nursery coz i have never told him that!

hehe, I wouldnt worry just yet!! Phillip like to brush and dry my hair - normally when I am in a hurry!! And they are exposed to Westlife singing on a daily basis!! One of my vet colleagues told me exposing him to westlife will make him g** hehe as if lol!!!

mother in law always telling me how hubby used to love to dress up in her things and put on all her make up when she wasn't looking!! good job he not reading this hehehe

haha! i was always told that boys are easier, but mine has a penchant for make up and heels, and gets upset when i get dolled up and don't include him!
