We dont use much of it, all our cats get acp/vet and propofol except the really feral ones but we dont have loads left. Let us know when its back in. Whats going on lately intubease now this!!

Ketamine is a great source of pain relief either intra op or post op given as either an infusion or one off boluses.

I personally like it's use. I was always taught you had to wait say 30 -45 mins after injection to recover them (inject atipamezole) and this reduces the risk of a stormy recovery.

I don't like the spackyness either. I am pretty sure the cats are in some kind of hallucinogenic hell dimension when they're coming round from it- I wouldn't want it used on mine out of choice.

Don't use Ketamin anymore. Personally, hate the spacky-ness post op, hate waiting 45 mins to reverse it. Not even for rabbits anymore following advice from a rabbit lecture my vet attended. So it'll go off at some point bit of a waste really. Still, no paperwork for me!

Good job we don't use it often so we will hopefully not run out! We propofol 99% of our cats...naughty ones get ketamine.

We can't even get hold of Narketan at the moment, we're having to pre-med with ACP/Vetergesic and give Propofol to our cats. Very time consuming!

If only we could do this, you need a sellers license to do this sort of thing, only know this cos we use a human pharmacy for some of the more obscure drugs

hi everyone, we use ketaset through NVS, i telephoned them on tuesday and they told me that it should be back mid october but all other alternatives are O.O.S also, we are running quite low aswell

No idea but I am assuming there are laws there to stop it somewhere! Will have to look round the other suppliers and keep fingers crossed I hope.

we use 'vetalar' obtained through NVS. We have not had a problem with the stock of this so it might be worth you trying them.

I was just about to post about this.

We use Centaur and cannot get hold of any of the alternative Ketamine preparations - Ketaset, Vetalar, anything. It is becoming a real problem as we are getting low now.

We have even tried our local Pharmacy to see if they can help and nothing.

Please help!

Ye we have it on back order with Dunlops, been a few weeks since we ordered it. Not sure when its gonna be back.

I haven't heard this but we use a product called Narketan if you're looking for an alternative
