No toy is indestructable, but Tuffies are great. They come in different strengths, from 1 to 10. Higher the rating, tougher they are. Collarways make them and they are lovely to deal with.

Just had a look at the link, think Jack would prob need a 10 rating, which is the mega rings. I hope he wouldn't be able to destroy it too quickly at £25!!! I'm not going to get one just yet...have spent a fair amount on him and my other animals already this weekend! How strong do people find the 9 scale tuffies compared to the 10 scale? The 10's don't have squeakers in so Jack would prefer the 9's, but don't know they'd be robust enough for him!

Re: Toys for a powerful chewer?

Squeaky toys dont last long in our house either. Within 5 mins most soft toys are in bits, rubber toys are of no interest to my dog, so they spend their life in the bottom of the 'toy box'.

Bought a Tuffie at Christmas - the medium size octopus - a squeak in each limb and one in its head. It is still alive and kicking, nearly 2 months on Have seen pictures online where tuffies have been destroyed within minutes, so definately not 'indestructable'. I got her one of those phlat balls, which you can squash flat, and they then pop into a sphere shape. she has destroyed loads of toys, but not that one. because her main love is balls, i can give her a hard rubber ball, which she will play with and try to chew, but can't destroy my son hates it, as whenever he trys to play football, she joins in and pops it! also a nightmare when you take her out and the local footy team are playing! one time i had her off the lead and she just ran into the pitch (ignoring me screaming for her to come back, and careering after her) and grabbed the ball! thankfully it was only a practice match!

shes a world away from my old pooch, whose toys lasted forever! i was gobsmacked when new pooch destroyed a tennis ball in about 90 seconds flat! lol!

Re: Toys for a powerful chewer?

No toy is indestructable, but Tuffies are great.
I have to say, she is sweetness and light with the big dogs, and actually quite submissive towards them, as long as there is no toy involved, she changes into superdog with a toy(well at least she thinks she does

Re: Toys for a powerful chewer?

I seem to remember someone telling me that kongs once stated they were indestructible...but now say "virtually indestructible"! I have a tough rubber ball the same size a a tennis ball...he hasn't destroyed it because he won't play with it cos it doesn't squeak and he can't chew it!

Re: Toys for a powerful chewer?

I remember years ago, one of my Rotties was a terrible chewer of toys, anyway I bought this rubber.........seriously hard rubber "indestructible" ball........ it lasted 2 mins exactly and was in bits.
