Im an ANA and get £6.09 an hour, have just become a SVN and wage has stayed the same.

When I was an ANA i was taking home £1,000 a month after tax national ins etc.

I worked 8-2.30 and 11-7.30 alternate days and 1-6 saturdays 11-5.30.

I got my ANA college fees paid for me etc.

I am now a SVN and get the same amount.

I live in Surrey, which is quite an expensive area.

Wow - that is excellent pay. I'm an RVN and am not paid anywhere near that much.

I'd say it's pretty good too! I'm a qualified nurse working as a receptionist and I get £6.52 an hour! Come October the minimum wage for over 21's will rise to £5.93 p h. Something wrong somewhere..........

Well I'd say that is pretty good is more than i get paid as a deputy head nurse with 10 years qualification!!! - our anas get paid just over minimum wage for their age.

hi im on 8.50 so not sure if thats good or not. I have 20 yrs exp and i do admin, recept, and anything else as well as the general ana stuff. Im mindful not to overstep my role as per nursing duties tho. I work part time and quiet often get called back in at short notice so i guess its swings and roundabouts and i never finish on time either but hey ho thats the way it goes.

I suppose it depends on experience and what area of the country you live in.
