Its a steep but fantastic learning curve and it will do wonders for your career and your confidence. I was never that fussed with schedule 3 but it has to be done by nurses here so sounds right up your street!

(also, get yourself on some Sch3 CPD to boost your confidence... some coming up in London region soon... just thought I'd plug that.... )

I know its scary but take a deep breath and jump in, you will be amazed how proud of yourself you can be.

Good Luck !

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?

Go for it! I wish I lived closer to a charity Practice, as it seems you get so much fantastic experience. There aren't many private practices (in my experience) where you get to do Sch 3, so if thats what your after, The PDSA will be great.

As Caro says, stick two fingers up at your anxiety and prove to yourself that you can do it!

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?

hiya

it's a tough position to be in but clearly you want a change, wether you're happy, frustrated or unhappy, as you have been applying for jobs and turning them down so far.
But there was something inside you that said to you to accept this one I think...
And working for a charity is a great oppertunity, you learn a lot and get to do so much which gives you a lot of experience and satisfaction.

Change is scary but I know for myself, when I'm thinking about changing things (moving, breaking up relationships etc.) it means I need to listen to myself and just do it!

I hope things work out for you either way!

Good luck!

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?

I agree with what everyone has said... take the job you will probably end up loving it.

As to what Caro said re the anxiety issue.... you will never conquer it unless you take it by the horns, go for the job the stuff you learn there will give you so much confidence, and will probably end up helping your anxiety

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?
Thanks guys, but the thing is i am NOT unhappy, just mildly frustrated, I like it where i am at the moment, because it is local and a safe option / secure. I just feel i have made a mess of things
I was in a job that I found mildly frustrating and it soon turned into very very frustrating! I'd say get out before you get to this point because I was so miserable and I hated going to work.

I was working at a practice 20 mins from where I live. I now have over an hours drive to my new job. Do I regret changing? No!

I would worry about going back on your resignation because it could be something they hold against you in the future. I've heard the PDSA are excellent to work for and a brilliant experience. Surely you want to continue learning and not just be stuck in a job which you know in and out?

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?

Thanks guys, but the thing is i am NOT unhappy, just mildly frustrated. I get up everyday and look forward to work at my current practice, but just get a bit frustrated with certain things. I have already sent a message to the head nurse to speak to her about my resignation, hope i speak to her tonight and see what she says.

I like it where i am at the moment, because it is local and a safe option / secure. Good sound advise. It's obvious from your post that you are unhappy in your current position.

Reckon you should take up the new job and go for it. spread your wings so to speak!

Good luck

Re: Can i withdraw my resignation?

I wouldn't go back to your current job. You are obviously not happy there otherwise you wouldn't have been looking for a new job.

Going to a new practice is scary but once you've been there a couple of days I'm sure you will feel a lot more comfortable. I started a new job on Monday and I am loving it!

At the end of the day if you don't like it then you can always go somewhere else. You will never know unless you try it! Best of luck!! x

Take the job and see what it brings or you will live with the "what if...." moment.

To take back what you handed in means it will never be the same there for you. You have taken a step follow it through hiding where you clearly are not happy will not help you. You can help your anxiety by stepping into the fear giving it a boot up the back side and saying look just pi** off out my way.

l have just bought a new camper l know l jumped to quick after Brians death l should have gone for the smaller one but he loved the big dakota and this is similar so thats why l took that step l know it and am honest enough to myself to admit my stupidity l am now worrying like crazy but have followed it through. I can always sell it and get a smaller one.

You can always look for a different job if the pd is to much for you but you won't know until you try. PD have their routines as well so give their routines a try. At least you can say been there done that. Instead of wanted to go to scared didn't like xyz here but stayed now wish l tried it etc etc.
