Colleges are varying in how they deliver things such as assignments etc, but one thing is certain and that the NPL log in details can't be released until the student is enrolled as an SVN, and they can't enrol as an SVN unless they are enrolled on a college course so this is what is holding up the new sign ups, however the transition students have to be transferred to the new award and this also warrants paperwork from the VNAC involved to do this. It is unfair, as I know students desperately want to crack on the with the NPL, but I think they will find that they progress alot faster with the NPL than they did with the portfolio - fingers crossed eh!

I know what you mean!! I am a first year student and am trying to understand it all and what will happen next year. All i know is that the "transitional" year is apparently being run for a couple more years yet for those who do not pass their exams.

Currently, if i do not pass my exams in Nov, i have no idea what will happen or where will run this transitional course! I don't like the way they have taken away the portfolio because I knwo my work will still give me near to nothing in time for doing any work and portfolio is easier to complete in little bits outside of work than an assignment!

Ahh the wonderful rcvs they can be relied upon to let you down and screw things up.

It was the same when nvq came out and those of us who had it inflicted as a badly run system can understand totally where you are coming from.
